Synapse in NM Magazine

Two Synapse Studio photographers are featured in New Mexico Magazine’s latest photo issue (January issue).  For those of you living in NM, be sure and pick one up.  Some genuinely eye grabbing photos this year.

Jory Vander Galien:

“The Departing Winter Storm”

On a rather windy, cold, and snowy morning, I finally saw the break in the clouds I was longing for.  The way the light fell through the clouds of the departing storm, it gave the impression the clouds were alive as the light bounced and gleamed.  The clouds were spinning and churning as they were departing revealing a snowy west slope of the Sandia Mountains (outside Albuquerque).

Corey Walker:

“Escaping the Statue”

It was almost as if the shadow on the church took on a life of its own in this early New Mexico morning.  This image was taken at St. Jude’s Church in San Patricio, NM.

* As a side note, last  year NM Magazine featured Corey Walker’s son Jude Walker, only to be followed by St. Jude the following year.  Two Judes in two years!  It would be tough to pull of a 3-peat.
